Rainbow

This page is presented by sinners. Once, we lived eagerly and willfully in sin. Now, we struggle with it. We feel firmly qualified to deliver this opinion because we lived a lifestyle that was not pleasing to God, and we still do things that do not please Him. But as followers of Christ, we strive to obey Him out of love and thankfulness. Please know that what we say here, we say with all humility, kindness, and love.

Born that way

Most will say I am a homosexual because I was born that way. We agree. It is the same fallenness that causes people to sin in various ways. I was also born with a natural propensity to sin—a desire to do drugs, to drink heavily, and to commit various sexual acts in any way that would satisfy my passions. I was drawn to sexual sin in many ways; there is a part of me that likes and desires it. I am comfortable doing these things, and it feels perfectly normal. That is because it is part of my fallen nature. We all have this fallen nature. We are all born sinners.

Pride

In the Bible, pride is rebellion against God, rebellion against His will, against His design, against His holiness. Pride goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Satan lied to Eve when he told her that she would be like God. Eve wasn't happy to live as God wanted her to live. Living in Paradise wasn't enough for her.

Pride is the desire to lift up and exalt ourselves beyond our place before God. (Genesis 3)

Adam and Eve wandered away from God.

They were not content with all that God had provided.

They desired something they were not to have.

They Doubted God and His word. Their way was better than God’s way – just as people do today.

Represented by the rainbow today, that same pride is prevalent in our society through sexual lifestyles that go against God's design. The Pride movement is a unified rebellion against God and His design for sex. But God's design for sexual relations has not changed: it is sex within marriage between one man and one woman. Anything outside of that is sexual sin.

Pride in History

Around 2100 BC God destroyed

Sodom and Gomorrah by fire.

The two cities were destroyed because of one main problem: Pride. This pride led to sexual rebellion and other rampant sin.

4300 Years ago, God destroyed all people, except for 8, by a worldwide flood. He did this because of rebellion and wickedness.

God is patient, but there will come a time when His patience runs out and then His judgement will come.

The Promise of God

Biblical Unconditional Covenant:

God's covenant with Noah and the world.

After God destroyed most of mankind by the flood,

He vowed never again to destroy the earth by a flood.

I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be eliminated by the waters of a flood, nor shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth. ​God said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations; I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall serve as a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. It shall come about, when I make a cloud appear over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the rainbow is in the cloud, then I will look at it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” Genesis 9: 11-16

Dear neighbor, God offers grace and mercy to those who seek it, to those who turn to Him and turn from sin. Please consider these things. Please think about where you are and where you should be. Please do not choose the world's rainbow of arrogance and rebellion over God's rainbow of grace and mercy. God will not turn you away if you go to Him, place your faith in Jesus Christ, and seek His will and His way for your life. Jesus' loving invitation to you is to receive Him by faith, and to trust and follow Him.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.​
